Maroochydore
is the geographic centre of the Sunshine Coast, offering a blend of
surf beach and the calm waters of the Maroochy River whose southern
bank forms a virtually unbroken stretch of parkland and picnic spots.
Ideal for boating, fishing and aquatic pastimes. Maroochydore is the
venue of major surf sport carnivals. Ideal central base for
exploring the coast's attractions by car, coach or public transport.

Beaches -
The Sunshine Coast is one of the most beautiful stretches
of unspoiled beaches in the world.
The main beaches are patrolled year round. Swimmers should always
swim between the flags and follow closely any directions given by
surf life savers.
It's just a 2 minute stroll from the Surfcomber Beachfront Apartments
to the patrolled Maroochydore beach. |

The
Sunshine Coast Hinterland - Enjoy a relaxing
day high above the surf and sand in the Blackall range. This
hinterland area provides Mapleton and the Kondalilla National Park
with spectacular waterfalls and graded walking tracks. Visitors
can take a guided four wheel drive day trip or self-guided rainforest
trek.
The towns of Maleny and Monteville have restaurants, cafes, art
and crafts, and antique shopping facilities. An enjoyable
experience with spectacular views. |

Within a short driving distance are the Ginger Factory
and Macadamia Nut Factory at
Yandina, the Big Pineapple at Nambour, the Aussie World Complex
which includes an Aboriginal Cultural Centre and the famous Etamogah
pub.
Travel back through time and experience Australian history on the
Valley Rattler train ride, or visit Bli Bli Castle with it's dungeon
torture chamber and display of medieval armour.
Need excitement, then visit the Big Kart Track for some friendly
Kart racing or the dual seat Bungy Ride - 50 metres into the air
in 1 second ! |

Attractions - Visit
Underwater World at Mooloolaba and enjoy the marvels of marine life
and obtain a unique insight into creatures of the deep.
Also within short driving distance, where you can come face to face
with a variety Australian wildlife, or get close to a crocodile
at the Australia Zoo. Don't feel like driving? Catch the daily free
bus to Australia Zoo from outside the Maroochy RSL. |

and Events -
Enjoy a game of golf at the Horton Park Golf Club, a game of Bowls,
or spend a relaxing day shopping at the nearby Sunshine Plaza and
Big Top Shopping Centres. The Maroochy Sailing Club and the
Olympic sized swimming pool at Cotton Tree which is within easy
walking distance.
